Neighbourhood Watch

Firstly a huge thank you to everyone who has volunteered to be Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinators for their areas. From having just 3 small watches in January 2009 we now have 21 watches but we still need more. 

Please contact me for a non-obligatory information pack.  Apart from possible savings on your home insurance the major benefit is that, as a member of a watch, you will receive up to date crime reports and trading standards notices from Kent Police.

Rock School

The Rock School project is on hold as I have discovered that all the volunteer tutors need CRB checking, even though many of them are CRB checked elsewhere. To overcome this unexpected cost implication I have applied to KCC for a grant, which will also be used to purchase some instruments.  Any instrument donations are still much appreciated.

Seniors Lunch

Carol Isles, the centre manager, and I have also been discussing the possibility of putting on a weekly lunch at the centre for the older members of the community and the school have kindly offered to do the meals for £2.50 per head. 

Although I can collect the meals when on duty I am sometimes required to work elsewhere so we need a back-up volunteer with transport who could possibly collect the meals.  We also need volunteers to help with the serving.
